For the past few weeks since the end of the Little League World Series, Mo’ne Davis has been making her way around the U.S. for appearences everywhere from Chicago for the Steve Harvey Show, L.A. to toss out the first pitch at a Dodgers game, and back home to Philly where she and her teammates were honered at a Phillies game, as well as a few other spots.
Last night her most recent appearence came while she visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. While there, she spoke about the type of reactions she gets from her friends at school, she also shared her after-game ritual where she eats a sub or slice of pizza at Lazaro’s depending on if she’s hungry or not.
After cracking a few jokes, and making her dance for the first ever random dance segement, they talk about her pitching faces and go over her Little League World Series accomplishments, including being the first girl to pitch a shutout and first girl to get the W in a LLWS game.
Of course her appearance wouldn’t have been complete unless she showed off her skills on the mound for Jimmy and the studio audience. So Fallon challened Mo’ne to a little friend game of America’s favorite past-time, but of course not real baseball, but instead wiffle ball. Jimmy stood in the batter’s box while Davis’ longtime friend was the catcher and Mo’ne delivered some bullets for Jimmy to handle and like the true pro he is, he got a few hits off her, but it was Mo’ne who prevailed and struck him out a couple times before intenionally hitting Fallon with the ball and benches cleared.
