Every season there are standout rookies that catch people by storm but Luka Doncic and Trae Young certainly caught the league on fire with their play.
That’s probably why the two are at the top of the list when it comes to All-NBA honors for rookies this year, with both 100 first team votes. Among the other three rounding out the first-team include Marvin Bagley III, DeAndre Ayton (the first pick in last year’s draft) and Jaren Jackson Jr.
On the second team, you can see two players from the Los Angeles Clippers made the cut, another Atlanta Hawk and the New York Knicks‘ up and comer Mitchell Robinson.
First Team
Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks
DeAndre Ayton, Phoenix Suns
Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis Grizzlies
Marvin Bagley III, Sacramento Kings
Second Team
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LA Clippers
Collin Sexton, Cleveland Cavs
Landry Shamet, LA Clippers
Mitchell Robinson, New York Knicks
Kevin Huerter, Atlanta Hawks
Were there any snubs who should have made the cut?
This was the first time in over 30 years (since the 1984-1985 season) that the Top 5 picks in the NBA Draft made it to the All-Rookie first team.
