Four years ago, this would’ve been great. . . .
With a plethora of cap-room this summer, Phil Jackson is doing his best to save face with the New York Knicks. From acquiring Derrick Rose last week in a trade, as well as signing free agent and native of the city, Joakim Noah, New York gets their hands on another quality role player today.
Brandon Jennings will assume the sixth-man role with the Knicks, as he’s agreed to a one-year deal reportedly worth $5 million. Since suffering back to back Achilles injuries over the last seasons, Jennings has only played 89 games since the 2014 season. Before leaving the Milwaukee Bucks four years ago, he was nearing an average of 20 points per game, with 6 dimes a night.
However, his role is diminished for the time being, as the 26-year-old former no. 10 overall pick will look to resurrect his career at Madison Square Garden in a few months.
Following the signing of Courtney Lee and this recent acquisition, it’s safe to say that the team’s first six players are in place for the 2017 regular season rotations.
Can't wait to play in the Mecca!! Excited to be joining such a historic franchise @NYKNICKS!!!
