New York Yankees Complete Trade With Los Angeles Angels For Vernon Wells

Wells Headed From L.A. To The Bronx After Waiting Entire Career To Wear Pinstripes.

The New York Yankees had been in preliminary talks to acquire veteran outfielder Vernon Wells from the Los Angeles Angels for the past 2 weeks as both sides came to an agreement with an official deal announcement today. The Yankees send minor-leaguers Exircardo Cayones and Kramer Sneed along with cash considerations to the Anaheim Halos in exchange for the 34-year-older.

Vernon Wells who’s expected to be the starter this Monday for opening night against the Boston Redsox will join Brett Gardner Ichiro Suzuki in the outfield for one of his first outings with the team. Wells didn’t have much success in Anaheim with only 95 total RBI’s in two seasons is coming into a system who’s in desperate need of hitting with key players Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Curtin Granderson and Mark Teixeira all injured.

He was recently an all-star in 2010 but has suffered from injuries and not fitting in well with the Angels as he’ll definitely fit in the Yankee system. Fans are not too fond of the signing so far as we’ll have to wait and see how he plays under the big lights in the BX.
