OS Top 10: Greatest Mike Tyson Knockouts

Michael Spinks | June 27, 1988 | Convention Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey
Outcome: First Round Knockout | 1:31 | Won The Ring Heavyweight titles

Three days before his 22 birthday, Mike Tyson was in my opinion was just now entering the peak of his career as he had a match scheduled against the undefeated Michael Spinks for the Ring Heavyweight titles. Spinks who had previous wins over Larry Holmes and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, never lost in his career or had been knocked down in the right at the age 32 with no loses; but every dog has its day.

Tyson would score one of the fastest knockdowns as Spinks would miss a haymaker as Mike would counter with a two-punch left jab and right hook knocking Spinks out. Iron Mike would win the Ring Heavyweight titles as Michael Spinks would retire with only loss under his belt for the career.
