OS Top 10: Greatest Mike Tyson Knockouts

There’s certain people that will always be boxing heads by heart, as you can include a few of us in that category. Behind the scenes here at OnSMASH, we’ve been pleased with the recent resurgence in boxing with countless memorable fights from the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Andre Ward, Juan Manuel Marquez, Sergio Martinez, Timothy Bradley and Adrien Broner being at the forefront of the future to carry the torch when the older fighter decide to hang it up. More so, in our opinion, the sport of boxing hasn’t been this exciting since the Mike Tyson era in the 90s.

Tonight on Showtime, the beefy month of quality fights starts tonight with Richard Abril vs. Sharif Bogere for the WBA lightweight title followed by in the comings weeks with Tavoris Cloud vs. Bernard Hopkins, Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Ruslan Provodnikov, and Brandon Rios vs. Mike Alvarado. These fights should continue the momentum from 2012 bringing the sport back to the forefront with the ones following the month.

We decided to give a special tribute to the most exciting athlete of the last great boxing era in tribute to the sport for the fans who stuck with Boxing after all of the depressing years we’ve endured. In a 3 Decade span of fighting, Tyson has arguably been the most popular, excited and officially earned the most net income in sporting history as it was only right to pay homage today for Iron Mike’s contributions to the sports setting a path for the younger fighters carrying the torch.

You can check after the jump to start witnessing the knockouts we’ve enjoyed over the years and let us know in the comments your reaction to seeing some dudes fall victim to Iron Mike. Cue up LL Cool J’s Mama Said Knock You Out & LET’S GO!
