Paul George Scores Game Winner in Double Overtime to Beat Jazz

It took two overtime periods for the Oklahoma City Thunder to beat the Utah Jazz tonight. OKC may be on a run with Paul George and Russell Westbrook finding playoff form, but Donovan Mitchell and company aren’t pushovers.

Even as Westbrook fouled out in the stretch, PG13 put the team on his back and led them to victory at Chesapeake Energy Arena in front of the home crowd.

In double OT and time running out, George was at the top of the key and then split through Utah defenders, hitting a clutch runner in the lane to put the Thunder up 148-147 with 1.6 seconds left. It was the dagger that won the game.

Kyle Korver had a shot to seal the game at the buzzer but he missed the shot.

Paul finished with 45 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Westbrook was two assists shy of a triple double, ending the night with 43 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists.

Mitchell led all scorers with 38 points and 5 assists.

Utah has the easiest schedule down the stretch of the season, but every game from here on out may have playoff implications when the records are so close together. This could potentially be a first round matchup too.

Regardless, it was a dope game to watch.
