Earlier today, the 2012 NBA Champion Miami Heat were invited to the White House for the annual league visit to be honored by President Obama. In the clip above, The President discusses the Heat’s long journey to their 2012 championship run dealing with the heartbreak loss in 2011 to Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks then turning back around the following year to win their first title as a team together.
He also recognized the franchise’s work off the court thanking them for their help with military service members at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as well as various charity work. LeBron James and D-Wade would present Obama with a game ball and a Miami Heat no. 44 Jersey as LeBron would close out saying “Mama, I Made It.”
