When this game started, it looked like another blowout waiting to happen and it was on the brink of collapse for a second game in a row with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Trailing as many as 18 in the first half, the young Lake Show core rallied against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden and made it a thriller to end the game. During the last half of the fourth quarter, the two teams were going back and forth, with Kyrie Irving hitting some clutch shots and Kyle Kuzma draining some triples to keep the Lakers in the game.
With seconds left, Brandon Ingram tried to win the game with a layup, but got blocked. The ball tipped around numerous hands before it ended up with Rajon Rondo. He grabbed the rock and threw it up from the free throw line to win the game.
It was his first career buzzer beater and it happened in the city that he has so much love and respect for. Plus, it was a crucial W for the Lakers.
Though this probably won’t stop those trade rumors from being reported, at the least, it gives the young core some motivation and confidence to end the season strong. They’re gonna have to fight to make the playoffs.
LeBron James had a triple double and had a funny play towards the end where he asked for the ball in the corner for a three and nobody passed it to him.
