Russell Westbrook Blames Himself for OKC Thunder Loss Against Trail Blazers

With the Oklahoma City Thunder down 0-1 in the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers, things weren’t looking up for OKC going into Game 2. Especially since it seemed like Paul George was ailing an injured shoulder.

With Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combining for 62 points in the game, the Thunder had no answer for them last night in Portland.

Russell Westbrook finished with only 14 points, shooting a dreaded 5-20 from the field, and 1-6 from 3-point range. The Thunder were never going to win with that type of performance. PG13 scored a team high 27 points in the loss.

After the game, Westbrook blamed himself and took full responsibility for OKC going down 0-2 in the series, saying his performance was “unacceptable” and that he’s not worried one bit because he’s going to be better moving forward. He didn’t have much to say about his competitive nature against Lillard, even though on the court, it was a battle.

The series now shifts to Oklahoma City, with Russ and PG13 trying to protect their own home court and hopefully tie things 2-2 before they head back on the road.

Do you think the Thunder have a chance to come back?
