The Golden State Warriors have not seen Steve Kerr on the bench to coach since Game 2 of the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers.
In his absence, Mike Brown has gone undefeated through Game 1 of the NBA Finals, but the boss is back in action for tonight’s game. Kerr has been dealing with migraines and nausea that stemmed from back surgery two years ago. The organization has said they would be behind their coach, but wanted to make sure he was healthy as can be before he made his return.
Steve hasn’t been entirely absent, though.
Coach Kerr Facetime’d with his team and even partook in practices and at halftime throughout the playoffs, even making the trip to San Antonio to rally the troops. He said in a press conference he feels good and intends to be present for the remainder of the finals.
This is great news for the Warriors as they look to take the 2-0 lead in the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena. It all goes down tonight at 8:00pm EST.
