The San Antonio Spurs are a world class organization and they always look out for their own. Tim Duncan is only a few years removed from retiring after winning multiple championships and giving his whole career to the organization, but he has already found a job after basketball. On the court, at least.
Today, the Spurs announced that Duncan would be joining the coaching staff under Gregg Popovich as an assistant coach.
Not only will he be a veteran presence in the locker room and on the bench because he knows Coach Pop’s system in and out, but he can also serve as another high IQ guy that can bring in schemes to help for the season.
Coach Pop was thrilled with the news and said this of the signing:
“It is only fitting, that after I served loyally for 19 years as Tim Duncan’s assistant, that he returns the favor”

This is great of the franchise and for one of the greatest power forwards to play the game. Timmy is back in the NBA.
