Tony Parker Out Rest of 2017 Playoffs with Torn Quadriceps Tendon

End of an era in San Antonio?

Wednesday night, the San Antonio Spurs were closing out their game two victory over the Houston Rockets – to even out the series. However, mid-way through the fourth quarter, the team saw an unexpected injury, when Tony Parker went down after a layup attempt in traffic. Unfortunately, it was a non-contact fall, so the injury is possibly more severe than many are expecting.

The 34-year-old guard, who has a birthday later this month, attempted to walk off the court on his own; but was carried by teammates. The Spurs teammates spoke about the heartbreaking situation, as both Gregg Popovich and Manu Ginobili didn’t seem optimistic about a possible return to the lineup this year. Parker was still in pain hours after the game, as he will undergo an MRI this morning, where team doctors will learn the exact fate of his injured left knee.

San Antonio will now look to backup and three-point specialist, Patty Mills, who will fill in the starting void for the injured Parker. With the Rockets set to host a two-game home stand this weekend, the Spurs will look to avoid falling into a 3-1 series hole. Take a look at the raw video clip above.
