Should the Indiana Pacers tank this season for a quick rebuild?
Last season, the Indiana Pacers returned to the Eastern Conference finals for the second consecutive year. The team unfortunately lost again to the Miami Heat with homecourt advantage, which segued into arguably their worst off-season ever as a franchise. From Paul George breaking his leg in a Team U.S.A. scrimmage last August and losing Lance Stephenson in free agency, the former Eastern Conference highest winning team could be in danger of missing the playoffs before the year has even started. Frank Vogel and Larry Bird lost a few role players in the off-season but failed to make improvements to their team losing Lance to the Charlotte Hornets.
With Roy Hibbert losing all confidence and George Hill’s unfortunate lack of ability to properly run an offense, the Pacers have no shot at getting past the first round of the playoffs or even making the final cut of 8 hopefuls. A few teams in their respective conference not named the Philadelphia 76ers will be tanking this season with hopes of landing a number one pick. We’re just curious if Indiana will give PG-13 an extended grace period to properly make sure his body is well-persevered heading forward.
