Top 10 Questions For The Upcoming 2015 NBA Season

Detroit Pistons v New York Knicks

Did Carmelo Anthony Make The Right Choice Staying In New York?

Following the arrival of Phil Jackson and hiring of new protégé Derek Fisher, the future of the New York Knicks is looking very intriguing heading forward. The team is now building on the strength of superstar Carmelo Anthony to convey future talents and have limited cap-room this season. While many are citing this may be a lame-duck year due to the heavy contracts of Amar’e Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani, but Melo has come into the season willing to learn the triangle offense that Phil and Fish plan to incorporate into the team, following success the Zen master had with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers (that’s 11 championship rings ladies and gents). We have no questions regarding the team offensively, but the Knicks can be a playoff team this year if they’re willing to play defense.

With Phil lingering around practice and the sidelines, the veterans will be more motivated to over perform in comparison to last year. The only question we have, is if in fact Carmelo made the right decision to stay in New York. The future hall-of-famer does have his comfort zone back, but he definitely made a financial decision staying in the Big Apple. Over the summer in free agency, he revealed the Los Angeles Lakers had the biggest chance of conveying him over the Knicks, but they’re team is in more limbo and disarray with the Buss family’s power struggle in comparison to Phil running the show on Broadway.

The Chicago Bulls have a better team currently constructed than New York, but patience is key – which Melo will have to live with his decision for presumably the rest of his career.
