Indiana Hoosiers | 26-5
Season: Secured Best Big Ten Record | Ranked No. 1 In East Regional
Some may call this the most overrated team in the tournament, mainly because people love to hater the program, but before the 2012-13 season started, they were ranked no. 1 in both the AP and Coaches polls. Although they lost to Wisconsin in the semis of the Big 10 Tournament in Chicago over the weekend; Indiana still managed to get the top seed in the East Regional. Hoosiers captain Cody Zeller has been considered by most to be one of the top players in the all of college basketball, but head coach Tom Crean hasn’t focused the offensive system around Zeller.
In our opinion it’s very intriguing at how far the Hoosiers could go this year already having the nation’s best offense, led by Victor Oladipo and player of the year candidate who’s not even the team’s leading offensive scorer. Sky’s the limit for this team, but it comes down to Crean’s strategy with incorporating Zeller into a consistent flow for their offense instead of getting clean up and points and free throw points due to his lack of offensive skills with his face to the basket.
We’re hoping to see more of the pick and roll offense with Kevin Ferrell that’s been successful when used this season as you shouldn’t be surprised to see this team in Atlanta depending if they stay clear of Miami.
