Warriors Blow Out the Cavs in Game 1 of NBA Finals

RELATED: The Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Finals Schedule

The hype was at an all-time high when Game 1 of NBA Finals was about to start and Oracle Arena decibel levels were ridiculous high. The Golden State Warriors wanted revenge against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for last year’s 3-1 series collapse and they were looking to make a statement at home against them.

The game was fairly close through the first quarter, with the Cavs taking the lead a few times and Warriors making runs to even up the score and go up a few points. Not to mention all the layups they missed in that first quarter. It was 15 in total and Golden State could have been up by way more during the first half if they would have nailed those buckets.

The Cavaliers were only down eight points by halftime, hanging around even with 12 turnovers as a team. King James had seven of them after the second quarter.

In the second half, the Warriors turned up, though.

Between Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, the Warriors offense was firing and it continued for much of the second half. Enough that the Dubs ran away with the lead and never looked back.

Just between those two, they had 66 points in the game.

Curry finished with 28 points and 10 assists on the game, while Durant had a monster 38 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds in the game. No other Warriors player was in double digits. Klay Thompson? He only had 6 points as his team cruised to another victory.

On the other side of the ball, LBJ had 28 points and 15 rebounds and Kyrie Irving had 24 points. Kevin Love added 15 points and 21 rebounds, but it wasn’t even close to making a difference in beating Golden State on the road for Cleveland.

The Cavs did not play good and need to step it up to have a chance in the series.

The Warriors are now 13-0 in the playoffs and have not lost a game in the postseason. They were on fire and will be looking to continue the streak on Sunday when they play Game 2.
