Nate McMillan
Win-Loss Record: 478-452 (.514)
Championships: None (Conference Semifinals In 2005)
We’re still not over that Portland Trail Blazers situation which Greg Oden is rolling around somewhere in a wheel chair and Brandon Roy is playing for the Timberwolves on one knee. Nate McMillan has always been a coach to maximize his younger less fortunate talented ballers which is something he can instantly help for the Lakers with their extremely thin bench as Devin Ebanks, Darius Morris and Jodie Meeks are still developing into legitimate NBA players.
Nate’s have a as he’s maintained an above .500 career record in the NBA. Since taking over in Seattle during the Ray Allen & Rashard Lewis days he made that franchise relevant again after the departures of Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton to make the playoffs two of his five tries before the team left for OKC.
He would later leave for Portland as they were in the rebuilding process drafting Lamarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden, Brandon Roy and Nicolas Batum in all back to back years. Oden and Roy became victims of the injury bug as Aldridge would miss most of one season due to a heart issue.
Out of this bunch, for the long-term, Nate would be the best choice having a team of championship-ready talent from top to bottom ready for the time in his career as he would have more motive into this situation to take the next step. He’s respected by every player in the league as none of the older vets on the team would have any problems listening to his constructive criticism to improve their games.
