At last, The Zen Master! If you’re a Laker fan and Kobe to get two more rings before he leaves for retirement in presumably two years, then Phil Jackson is the only pick. Phil is regarded by many as the greatest coach of all time with nearly 1200 wins over a 21 year career span and is second behind Red Auerbach (16) on the all-time NBA trophies with a count of 11. If Phil Jackson returns the Lakers, the entire NBA could be in trouble as he’s finally regained his health after taking the 2011 season off due to knee replacement surgery.
Many around Jackson say he’s “getting better and better” as he’s looking the most healthy in over a decade. Before the lockout started last season, Phil was in talks with Portland and Orlando to become their next head coach before ultimately deciding not to coach at al last year due to his frustrations with the NBA lockout going past November. With that being said, Phil Jackson wants to coach a dominant big man that’s not child. Dwight Howard is the logical choice here as pairing up with Phil who takes no shit from anybody could turn the team entirely around.
For you Lakers fans out there that have been missing Kobe-Shaq for the past 8 years, this could possibly be the closest thing to that this decade as Dwight could instantly become if not the best player in the NBA under the triangle offense. Kobe’s lobbying for the return of Phil as he still has his lifted chair in their training gym before you walk in ready for his return to the team. In the triangle-offense, Kobe and Dwight would become the primary scorers with the floor spread for open shooters to rain threes and would help Nash excel who’ll be able to be the floor general and his ability to knock down the open trey with history of being one of the greatest NBA shooters all time.
Nobody on the earth wants Phil Jackson back more than Kobe Bryant as the Mamba sees the light at the end of his super-elite level play ending with the need to win a few more rings before his hall of fame career is over. Jackson’s been rumored to be in talks to return to the Lakers organization as his longtime girlfriend Jeannie Buss, daughter of owner Jerry Buss has been a major influence into this major decision.
