Will Ferrell Plays 9 Positions On 10 MLB Teams in One Day

The talk of the town of course this past week was everything football, from the trades to the free agent signings and some blockbuster deals taking place. For those of you who didn’t know, spring training for Major League Baseball is underway, which means that the official start of the regular season is right around the corner. Yesterday, comedian actor Will Ferrell made some MLB history by playing on 10 different major league teams, at 9 different positions, during five games, all in one day. The day was also in honer of former major leaguer Bert Campaneris, who played all positions during a regular-season game in 1965.

As apart of an HBO special for his comedy website Funny or Die, Ferrell partook in 5-games in the Arizona Cactus League where the comedic genius was traded a total of nine times throughout his eventful day, playing on such teams as the Oakland A’s, Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco, Los Angeles Dodgers and of course his MLB favorite the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. During his time spent on each team, Ferrell played all 9 positions on the diamond starting out as a shortstop for the A’s and ended as a right-fielder for the Padres. He even took over as third base coach and hit in the designated hitter spot in the lineup.

The memorabilia from his historic day will be auctioned on MLB.com, and all proceeds will be given to Cancer for College and Stand Up to Cancer. Above you can watch highlights from his exciting day, and below you check out some memorable photos from Will’s day.
