Loser: Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers defied the odds and somehow managed to land the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. So how is it possible that we’re calling them losers after a night that saw the player with the most upside, Andrew Wiggins, picked #1?

Because Cleveland isn’t getting LeBron James. They’re not making the playoffs next year. They will be Top 5 lottery teams in next year’s draft too.

That obviously means they’re losing.

While the thought of watching Wiggins and Kyrie Irving sounds like a highlight reel and SportsCenter Top Play every night, that still doesn’t help them in the front court. Dion Waiters with Irving and A.Wigs sounds nice, the Cavs have to depend on Anderson Varejao, Spencer Hawes, and last year’s biggest fail, Anthony Bennett, down low.

“Sources” said Kevin Love would join the squad if LBJ made a return to Ohio, but with Shabazz Napier in the bag out in Miami, the likelihood of that happening is getting smaller by the hour, so don’t count on Love, Cleveland.

Just continue what you doing what you do best. Lose.
