Loser: Toronto Raptors
“He’s two years from being two years away,” which is what one scout about the Toronto Raptors drafting Bruno Caboclo. We’re not sure whether the Raptors were trolling with this one, but they essentially threw away a pick this year, when they could’ve used it as trade bait for landing a potential player to join Terrence Ross and DeMar DeRozan.
The Brazilian forward has been a standout from the league’s Basketball Without Borders program, but a first round pick for somebody they could’ve landed in late in the 2nd round was a huge risk. The team originally intended to take Tyler Ennis, a local product, but landed in the hands of the Suns at 18.
Maybe they envisioned taking Ennis the entire draft and chocked under pressure with their pick, but nonetheless, they are definitely a loser this year’s. Sorry Drake.
