The Retail Version of Sony’s ‘PlayStation VR’ Unboxed

PlayStation VR unboxed!

If you remember during PlayStation VR’s official retail month and pricing announcement a few months ago, Sony teased what consumers could expect with the long-awaited peripheral. Well, an industry insider in Europe has got his hands on the final retail version of the virtual reality device and has share what’s inside the final packaging. As expected, the VR headset and the processor unit are the stand-out components for the $399 priced experience.

However, the company decided not to include PlayStation Camera or PlayStation Move, which are both required to experience the device on PlayStation 4. Games will have to spend an extra $100 bucks in total if they don’t already own those devices – bringing the total up to $499 in total (identical to its main competitors: Oculus Rift and HTC Vive).

What’s included in the box:

• The PlayStation VR headset
• HDMI and USB cables.
• Power brick and a power cord
• A pair of earbuds
• Processor Unit
• An adapter/cable that connects to the PlayStation VR
• The PlayRoom VR

Let us know if the if PSVR not including PlayStation Camera or PlayStation Move will be a deal breaker this fall in the comments below. Look for more details from Sony and their potential Killer-App accessory to arrive in three weeks at e3 in Los Angeles.
