Coming 2022. . .
AEW Video Game 2022 PS5, Xbox Series X gameplay video teased, as the professional wrestling company takes over the sport. Last holiday, AEW Wrestling confirmed that the creators of WWF No Mercy and Def Jam Vendetta, were building their official next-gen video game from the ground up.
It included an alpha model teaser, giving a look at the engine and physics. This has been ignored in years past from 2K Sports, most notably in the NBA 2K series. However, we’re actually intrigued AEW 2022 (working title), on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
For those of you who also remember WCW vs. NOW: Revenge; the gameplay should seem similar to past cult classics. In the brief gameplay tease, we could immediately tell that it would feel similar to those previous titles.
We’re just puzzled why the developers at Yuke’s Co. Ltd. and AKI Corporation, were never allowed to make similar simplistic games like the WWF No Mercy that gets mod updates every year.
With the WWE 2K series all but dead (and its real-life counterpart), we’ll be keeping a close eye on information for AEW in the coming months.
