EA’s ‘Need for Speed: Payback’ Heavily Resembles ‘Fast and The Furious’

Coming fall 2017!

Two years ago, Electronic Arts gave their entire Need for Speed series a fresh reboot, including tapping Ghost Games as a new developer. After having success with their self-titled remake in 2015, EA Games is looking to resurrect their popular racing franchise in the mainstream.

This week, Need for Speed: Payback was officially unveiled, just one week before e3 in Los Angeles; giving gamers a first look at the semi-open world title on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows.

With voice over contributions from Matt Damon, Emma Watson, Steven Segal and Jennifer Connelly (Ass to Ass), we’re getting serious vibes from The Fast and Furious. From the obvious exotic cars, to heist, explosion and corruption, this title just has every element from the box office money maker.

It’s unclear how online race play will be, which is our only concern – but a lengthy single player campaign should keep our focus for a days before Super Mario Odyssey this holiday.

You've owned the streets, now a new challenge awaits. #NFS2017 #NeedforSpeed #NFSPayback
