‘Madden NFL 17’ Official Cover Athlete & Debut Trailer Revealed

Rob Gronkowski scores the Madden 17 cover!

Last year, Rob Gronkowski finished second place last year ESPN’s Madden cover voting to New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. However, the star tight-end for the New England Patriots gets to “Gronk Spike” the competition this year, as EA Sports has tapped him as the official cover athlete for Madden NFL 17. This marks the first time ever that a T.E. has been selected to grace the biggest sports game in North America and also is the only member of the Patriots to ever have the honor.

In comparison to previous years where fans decided which player graced the cover, Electronic Arts decided to make their own choice this year – and hopefully for year’s moving forward to add mystique. Unfortunately, an official game play trailer wasn’t released; but expect the NFL simulation title to premiere in Los Angeles at next month’s E3 Showcase.

Look for the title August 23rd on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
