A few weeks back, 2K Games teased us with a cinematic trailer for the third installment of their popular open world third-person action-adventure game series, Mafia at Gamescom 2015. Just last week, the company released a worldwide reveal trailer for the upcoming Mafia III, which comes five years following it predecessor, Mafia II that released in 2010.
Fresh out of the Vietnam War, the lead character, Lincoln Clay, a biracial orphan, is on a revenge binge after surviving an attack by the Italian Mob. Looking to form an organization of his own to seek revenge, he looks to a few allies to lend him a hand. Cassandra, Burke, and Vito Scaletta (of Mafia II) are the three who will help him in this journey of taking down other organizations.
If you’re a fan off the previous installments in the series, as we are, this trailer should have made you more than excited for the game’s arrival within the next year.
Instead of 2K Czech taking lead as the developers, newcomers Hanger 13 are making their debut with this new title. Mafia III will be released in 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
