Halo 6 and the other first party games will come with 4K

With Sony eagerly preparing the world for their upcoming PlayStation Pro 4K console in a few weeks, Microsoft is still holding onto information regarding their mid-generation console upgrade, the Xbox One Scorpio. The high-end device is reportedly set to have twice the power capability of the PS4 Pro and will be on par with maximum PC settings – for the time being.

In an interview with USA Today, Microsoft Studios publishing general manager, Shannon Loftis, shared some news regarding the company saying, “Any games we’re making that we’re launching in the Scorpio time frame, we’re making sure they can natively render at 4K.” While this pertains to Microsoft Studios and other first-party handled games (see: Halo 6, Forza and Gears of War), Loftis didn’t go into details if third-party developers would avoid up-scaling titles to 4K resolution.

With the Scorpio set to offer six teraflops of computing capability, we’re sure imminent third party titles like Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t have a problem of having native 4K output.
