NBA Street, NFL Street, SSX, Def Jam & More Could Return after EA Billion Dollar Acquisition

NBA Street, NFL Street, SSX, Def Jam Returning EA Sports

NBA Street 2023?. . . .

Earlier this year, Electronic Arts revealed a major acquisition with Codemasters. That company is responsible for popular games like Project CARS, GRID, DIRT and the Formular 1 racing series. This now adds to their internal studios for Need for Speed, Burnout and Real Racing franchises.

With the company set to return to e3 in July, they revealed another acquisition, just two weeks ago. Metalhead Software, the creators of Super Mega Baseball, have officially joined the roster of EA Sports. The sports development team and the Baseball IP moves to Electronic Arts, raising multiple eyes within the industry.

It’s being brought to our attention, that there’s ramblings of them wanting to reboot titles from their closed studio EA Sports BIG. For those of you who remember, EA Sports BIG is the studio that brought us popular titles like: NBA Street, NFL Street, FIFA Street, SSX, and Def Jam to name a few.

With the company feeling confident in a market for non-simulated sports games, expect some type of formal announcement from the biggest third-party company in the world this summer. To say we’re excited would be an understatement, especially since they’ve invested in building up a proper roster of developers.
