All we asked for was 4K. . .
Nintendo Switch OLED model release date, price revealed, as the Big N looks to takeover the 4th quarter with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles backordered until next year. Today, Nintendo confirmed that their mid-generation upgrade of the Nintendo Switch would be arriving on October 8th.
In an official reveal trailer, it was confirmed that the system will be priced at $349.99 and will feature a 1080p OLED display. One of the major key components and features missing, was a 4K HDR upgrade; many were begging for, since we are in the year 2021. Also, frames-per-second boost has also become non-existent on the console, as the majority of the games releasing will still be locked in at 30fps.
The OLED device was rumored to use NVIDA’s DLSS upgrade chip, as well as memory storage being upgraded beyond 64GBs. Both of those features are also missing, as we’re essentially getting an upgrade on the screen. For those that haven’t purchaed a Switch yet and are growing impatient with not having a next-gen console; the new Switch does have an insane library of exclusive titles that would keep you entertained.
