Just gonna dead Bethesda huh. . .
While Sony has been figuring out a way to combat the global takeover Xbox Game Pass is having right now, things are getting sketchier. So far in 2021, we’ve already seen day-one releases for both Outriders and just this week with MLB: The Show 21. This is insane, considering Outriders is a Square Enix title, while MLB: The Show 21 is developed by Sony. Yes, Microsoft has a Sony-developed game on Xbox Game Pass right now, which was a forced move by Major League Baseball, LLC.
This week, PlayStation Poland website VGC spotted an ad for PlayStation Plus Video Pass. Initially, it revealed movie and TV content for existing PS Plus members with films Venom, Zombieland: Double Tap and Bloodshot listed on a banner. All of those films are made by Sony Pictures, which is eyebrow-raising for the direction they may head if 1st party titles are included on the gaming side of things.
SIE President, Jim Ryan, mentioned last year that Sony had plans of readying a competitor to Xbox Game Pass. However, with the purchase of Bethesda Games, we’re not sure how those plans are going to work after Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo are the final PlayStation 5 releases this year. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
