Sony Blocks Major Release from Coming to Xbox Game Pass Free, Raising Many Questions

MS will make a retaliation. . .

This generation is seeing Microsoft out of character, with aggressively going after the entire market with their Xbox Game Pass service. While Nintendo has been down to play ball, Sony has been reluctant to add it on PlayStation 5. It’s gotten to the point, where some Sony loyalist are caught in a catch-22 with the exclusivity of Bethesda games on the Series X/S.

Along with Starfield also being confirmed for Xbox later this year, Microsoft struck a nerve with Sony this month when MLB: The Show 21 was launched free on their console.

However, reports are now emerging that Microsoft was positioning themselves to add Resident Evil: Village to Xbox Game Pass day one. Unfortunately, it’s being reported that Sony blocked those plans from happening; as they had an exclusivity agreement with future DLC and exercised a clause from this happening.

This comes just off the heels off Sony facing fire for threatening to shut down the PS3, PSP and PS Vita stores last week. The backlash was so insane, that Sony reversed their decision, shocking most of the gaming community. Considering gamers are facing pandemic problems with being able to purchase more expensive titles; Game Pass has been the only GOOD thing this generation of console gaming, thus far.
