Take-Two Interactive Cancels MLB 2K Series

It’s official: MLB 2K will not be contractually renewed for the usual updated rosters and engine you non-PlayStation gamers pay $60 every year. Recent reports have revealed MLB isn’t making the final Take-Two cut this season for baseball lovers out there. Take-Two has seemed to have lost interest, licenses, and/or funds in other previously sports titles like NHL 2K, College Hoops, and most of all the short lived NFL 2K.

Three strikes you’re out, right?

OS REWIND: MLB 14 The Show Announced For PlayStation 4

A 2k representative had this to say,

“We decided not to renew our MLB 2K series for 2014. We are very proud of the achievements made by the MLB 2K team and look forward to their contributions to our future titles, including NBA 2K – our industry’s #1 rated and #1 selling basketball franchise”

Even though 2K Sports was the only company developing a simulation baseball game for Microsoft, the Xbox One will be without a Major League Baseball game for the time being, which shouldn’t be long considering their new admiration for each other.

Hopefully now 2K Sports focuses on repairing their broken game-play within the NBA 2K series in comparison to only upgrading graphics and a shitty playlist. So Xbox owners, if you want to play an updated roster this year, you’ll have to create new players if the 2K share servers aren’t running in Spring. As usual, PlayStation gamers, you can look for the most complete baseball simulation with MLB 14: The Show launching on Sony consoles in early March.
