EVO 2014 closes out the weekend, with an official announcing of Tekken 7!

Remember last year when we were first introduced to Unreal Engine 4 technology, through the infiltrator demonstration video? While gamers are still waiting for a combination of both definitive jaw dropping game-play and graphics in the next-gen, the brief trailer details what we could all expect down the line from Sony, Microsoft and most all PC.

Two months ago, Unreal Engine 4 finally went live and prompted developes to start testing future technology on the fresh hardware. One of the first games to be powered by Unreal 4 is long-time Japanese iron fist fighter, Tekken. Leaving Street Fighter behind, the series returns back to original roots with the official announcement of Tekken 7.

Details for the Namco Bandai fighter are extremely scarce, but director Katsuhiro Harada is already excited for the new game, boasting the innovations we can expect in the game’s hopeful 2015 release. Watch the trailer after the jump and comments from the Harada himself.

“The power and flexibility means that we can focus our efforts on making Tekken 7 the best possible game without worrying about spending time creating a stand-alone graphic engine,” said Harada. “With Unreal Engine 4, we could rapidly achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platform[s] and go beyond it. Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it allows us to immediately bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire.”
