For whatever reason, Warner Bros. is planning an untitled joker film starring Joaquín Phoenix. After years of negotiations, the OSCAR-nominated actor officially signed on to star as the nemesis of the Dark Knight. With production underway this fall, director Todd Phillips went to share the first official look at Joaquin as the character on the gram today. Unlike the traditional character most are accustomed to, DC Comics revealed Phoenix under the Joker’s real name, Arthur, before he becomes the Clown Prince of Crime. With Robert De Niro signing on to star in the film, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, and Marc Maron are also some of the key actors for the project.
With filming underway until next spring, look for the movie to hit theaters on October 4, 2019.
