Alicia Vikander is absolutely everywhere at the moment, after winning Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role in The Danish Girl.

Now, she’s landed one of her biggest roles yet as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider film. The Swedish actress beats the likes of Daisy Ridley, Emilia Clarke and Cara Delevigne to the role, and takes over from Angelina Jolie as the star of the Hollywood video game series. The franchise’s films Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life were released in 2001 and 2003.

The movie is set to arrive in late 2017. Before then, Vikander will appear in three films this year: Tulip Fever, Jason Bourne and The Light Between Oceans
