Apple Music Will Turn “Carpool Karaoke” Into An Online Series

It’s happening again. A late night sketch is being turned into a whole series. But instead of Spike lowkey ruining the series we used to call “Lip Sync Battle” (even though it’s been a ratings bonanza), the giant we know as Apple will be taking over James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke series.

Turns out Apple Music has purchased the rights to the Corden viral series that has taken off with guests like Adele, Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder and most recently, Michelle Obama.

16 episodes will be filmed, but our beloved host will not be the one riding around with the artists this go around, though Corden will still serve as producer.

As you can assume, this move by Apple is in direct competition with Spotify, who got into the original video content aspect of things last year.
