It’s almost been 10 full years. . .

Last November, the sequel to 2009’s epic science fiction film, Avatar, was set to finally arrive December 2018. At the request of 20th Century FOX, director James Cameron has been pushing for the project’s completion later this year – with extensive editing.

However, with Mr. Cameron developing four sequels at once (yes, Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5), he’s going to need a little more time before he’s ready to present the public with another masterpiece.

In an interview with The Toronto Star, James told reporters “What people have to understand is that this is a cadence of releases. So, we’re not making Avatar 2, we’re making Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5. It’s an epic undertaking. It’s not unlike building the Three Gorges dam.”

With cast members in place, as well as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver gearing up for a return to Pandora – look for FOX to make an announcement this fourth quarter.
