It’s legal!
You may not know the name Charlo Greene off top, but you’ll certainly remember what she did. If you recall back in September, Charlo quit her job as an Alaska news reporter live on air in what people describe the “fuck it” that was heard around the world. The video quickly went viral and put Alaska on the map. For more reasons than her just resigning from her job.
Ms. Greene used the moment to go all in for Yes on Prop 2, which would legalize weed in Alaska. She campaigned and VICE went down to her hometown to talk to her in the days leading up to the November election, up until the moment it was announced that the prop passed.
Charlo doesn’t care what you think of her or what she did, because she realized her dream. She was one of the biggest supporters of legalizing weed in her state and it happened. Now people can set up dispensaries and buy (whether for recreational or medical use), bring in tax dollars and responsible adults can make their own choice on whether to consume the substance or not.
Now Alaskans will just have to wait until Snoop Dogg throws a festival out there.
