HUGE NEWS IN THE TV STREAMING WARS

On the low, the TV streaming wars are heating up. So far, only Playstation VUE and SLING TV are competing, but Comcast and YouTube are set to join the party by next year. With more competition, that means every service will have to step up and offer fans either better pricing or better channels. It seems like Google just locked down a major player because reports are surfacing that CBS will be part of YouTube’s upcoming service.

There are no details on who else will be joining the service, but deals with FOX and Disney are on the table. This means the likes of Fox Sports, FX, ABC, ESPN and Nickelodeon may be part of the launch soon. As far as NBC, reports are saying deals with the network are farther off, but there is still time to work out the specifics.

Locking down CBS is huge, though, because up to this point they’ve been the hardest to work with. The network already has CBS All-Access in place and has been hesitant to work with streaming services. They contributed to Apple TV never launching their own platform.

YouTube streaming TV is set to launch in early 2017.
