Chance the Rapper Explains Why He’ll Never Run for President

So much for President Chano. . .

Earlier this spring, Chance the Rapper opened dialogue for helping rebuild the public-school systems in his hometown of Chicago; creating a path to spread across the rest of urban America.

After having a conversation with the local Illinois government and city Mayor, Chance held a press conference shortly after – venting his frustration with the meeting, which could likely help future youths avoid crime for survival. This led to him donating $1 million of his personal money to the city’s public school funding crisis in March, as well as setting up better programs for children.

Soon after, Drake urged his friend to run for town Mayor, but now Chano is explaining why he’ll never run for any government position – including President of the United States.

In an interview with Ebony Magazine, he went to say, “I would never run for any office or government position. I’m not into it. I think politics is a reason why a lot of stuff doesn’t get done.

There’s a lot of favors, and a lot of people are held back by their intentions of being re-elected or the things that they owe their party or constituents. I think when you’re in my position as an artist, I can say what I want and talk about the issues that matter.”

Given these recent comments, it’s safe to say that a political career for the young musician is not in the works, as he’ll continue to independently use his platform to help children and communities.
