About a week ago it was reported that Dave Chappelle would be doing a social distancing comedy show but details were scarce. Now, the standup special has come out on Netflix and it is titled “8:46.”
The title is a reference to the time Derek Chauvin put his neck on George Floyd’s neck before he died. Dave also said that 8:46 is the time he was born, according to his birth certificate and that not only is the special dedicated to Floyd, but also Kobe Bryant, whose numbers 8 and 24 signify his birthday.
The standup special is basically a sermon about police brutality, George Floyd and the countrywide protests, Drew Brees and kneeling before the national anthem and plenty of topics that are currently happening as we type.
