DC Comics on Why ‘Gotham City Sirens’ is Coming Before ‘Suicide Squad 2’

Gotham City Sirens coming 2020?

Last year, David Ayer made his mark on the DC Extended Univrse, with the release of Suicie Squad, starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto. Much like Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the project was met with unfortunate negative reviews but did win big at the Oscars this year.

Well, in a recent interview at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks ago, he explained why he’s going a Gotham City Sirens film before an official Suicide Squad sequel.

Ayer went to say, “It’s a story about three fantastic women who’re trying to find their way in the world, and realize that they have more power together than they do individually. I have daughters, and I want to create something that might be able to help them get along in the world a little bit.”

While the project starring Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy has been hinted at a release window, many of the DC community are expecting a 2020 roll-out.
