DC Comics Shares Details for Live-Action ‘Shazam’ Film

Coming to the theaters 2019?

With the DC Cinematic Universe aggressively moving forward with introducing characters to the masses, another film has been confirmed to arrive before the end of the decade.

This week, at San Diego Comic-Con, DC confirmed with The Hollywood Reporter that Shazam! was the next major film they had planned. However, it won’t happen until after the releases of both Justice League and Suicide, which it’s set to also tie directly into the DCU.

Production is slated to begin next winter, with a theatrical release in late 2019. This is due to The Flash losing its director and Wonder Woman reviving the studio’s internal belief of having a successful universe – in comparison to the obvious competitor.

David F. Sandberg has also been tapped to direct the film, as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will no longer be included motion picture. Look for more details to emerge later this year.
