Disney Discusses Future of Marvel Netflix Shows Before Exclusive Service Launch

The Defenders to join the Disney streaming service

Last August, Disney shared official details regarding their new streaming service – beginning with an official live-action Star Wars series. However, our biggest concern has been the future of The Defenders on Netflix, which has been ignored until this week.

With The Punisher finally airing this weekend, Disney plans to move their entire Netflix Universe from the service by 2019; as well as previously announced Disney Studio and Pixar Film titles.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the in-house film move could cost them $300 million a year after leaving Netflix, as they’ll likely launch their service with the live-action Lion King.

Let us know in the comments what you think about the Defenders leaving Netflix for Disney.
