DMC & adidas Originals Teams Up For Limited Edition Release

Even decades after the success from Run DMC, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels is out here putting on for the culture. To coincide with the release of his first (of three) graphic novels, DMC has teamed up with adidas Originals to drop a limited edition custom-made NMD TS1 sneaker, to bring two of his biggest passions together: sneakers and comic books.

As you can see from the pictures, the release comes with a unique collector’s box made out of wood and artwork from his latest comic.

Not to mention, every sneaker will come with a copy of the latest comic.

The adidas shoe dropped on the opening night of the New York Comic Con this past weekend at Flight Club in NYC and was limited to only 50 pairs for “Friends and Family.”

“Before Run-DMC I didn’t want to get up in front of a crowd and rhyme; but what gave me confidence, creativity and confidence out there on stage was pretending that I was the Hulk on the microphone. We try to bridge the gap between comics, hip hop and the street. Through Darryl Makes Comics we want to remove the stigma of geek or nerd. We want to inspire, motivate and empower. And this collaboration with adidas is the creative platform to help bring attention to our mission.”

If you can get these rare joints, you’re definitely winning.
