Donald Glover Joins ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Welcome to the MCU, Gambino!

As much as we hate how the Spider-Man series has declined after Tobey Maguire, with the continuation of high school nostalgia, we’re interested in the latest announcement from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. Actor-rapper-comedian, Donald Glover has officially joined the cast for Spider-Man:Homecoming, which will be his first appearance in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Just last April, it was revealed that the Avengers would make a cameo in Peter Parker’s latest tale, which he was first seen in the M.C.U. last month for Captain America: Civil War.

Homecoming is set to begin filming later this month in Gambino’s backyard of Atlanta, Georgia, which will also mark newcomer Tom Holland’s first lead role in the series. While details of his role are unfortunately being kept confidential for the Sony reboot, look for imminent details to surface in the coming months – leading up to its release next summer on July 7, 2017.
