While we’ve seen numerous reports cover the state of Colorado and their “Green Rush” the past years, none took it to the streets quite like DRUGS INC. Prior to this, we saw Vice focus on the booming business that the legalization of marijuana has seen, as well as some of the different ways it’s being used across dispensaries.

60 Minutes also doubled up with an episode of their own, just not as deep.

For the “Rocky Mountain High” segment of DRUGS INC, National Geographic travels to the Park Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado to meet with some of the bloods that are in a business of their own: The enticing cocaine, crack and heroin trade. Since the weed game is over, many are turning to more dangerous drugs to satisfy their highs.

Gansters in Denver still battle over turf, but now they’re flooding the neighborhoods with crack and heroin because it’s cheaper. Nat Geo even follows two homeless men who sell batteries just to chase their heroin high every day. The problem has gone as far as people doing drugs in plazas, located in certain parts of the city, without a worry in the world. Drugs are being sold and consumed by dozens of junkies, all in plain sight.

Of course, they visit a few dispensaries and factories to check out the goodies they make, take marijuana tourists on a trip through Denver and end up at the 4/20 rally that ended in gunfire between rival gang members.
