‘Fast & Furious’ Spinoffs & Prequels Planned

Welcome to the Fast and Furious cinematic universe!

Earlier this year, Furious 7 became the fifth highest grossing film of all-time at the box offices with $1.5 billion in ticket sales. This soon prompted Universal Pictures to tap Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray to helm the lens for the 2017 release of Furious 8.

However, the illegal street racing and action series isn’t stopping there! Vin Diesel has revealed to Variety, that he and Universal are in the preliminary stages of developing prequels and spin-offs – which looks to expand the series beyond Furious 8 in 2017. Diesel announced the Furious saga’s plans saying, “We’ve written out story-lines for various characters.”

While Vin believes he has about three more films left in him for the series as a whole, he also went to praise F.G.G. saying, “We have a director who is going to bring the darkness out and bring out the character.” Regarding whether the great Paul Walker’s character will be represented, Universal issued a statement saying “It will still be ‘Fast and Furious,’ it will just be without Paul.”

Stay tuned for more news to come regarding the now Fast & Furious Cinematic Universe.
