HBO Announces ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Premiere Date

If you’re not caught up to date with Game of Thrones, do yourself a favor and stay off of social media this spring. Thursday night, HBO revealed their Emmy-winning fantasy-adventure series will officially return this April 24th; which will hopefully address the biggest cliffhanger in the history of television.

While fans await the fate of their new TV hero, the season will also focus on the return of Bran Stark, who hasn’t been seen since 2014. In past years, Home Box Office normally premiered the series at the end of March and before mid-April. However, this year, the 10-episode season conclude in time before June 24th’s Emmy nomination eligibility deadline. Last year, season five ended one day before the nomination voting began.
